Shop Soap

At home, I'll often use a pinch of coffee grounds + some dish soap as a "just-in-time" replacement for a pumice shop scrub like GOJO. Shop Soap bars are a fun riff on this. I take spent coffee grounds and blend them into a cocoa butter soap base to make an hand soap bar that has a bit of grit for an additional scrub.

I am quite excited to be partnering with Four Barrel Coffee for a new batch of soap! Four Barrel is right around the corner from GPHQ, and I'm quite excited to be working with them to upcycle their spent grounds into new soap bars. You can choose between GPHQ grounds and Four Barrel grounds when buying a bar.

• V01 Four Barrel bars were made with a super fine espresso grind. These grounds tended to settle toward the top of the bar after being poured.
• V02 Four Barrel bars are made with coarser grounds that were used for drip coffee. These grounds lend themselves better to staying suspended through the bar as the soap cooled.
• I'm offering the available inventory of V01 bars at a discount to reflect this production improvement!

Shop Soap bars are part of the Studio Line, which means they are made in house here in San Francisco.

Please note that the coffee grounds in this soap leave a bit of (not permanent) coffee-colored residue on soap dishes, so you may want to use a dark colored tray if this type of discoloration would bother you otherwise!
