FAQ
Why isn't shipping free?
Shipping has a real cost - both financially and environmentally. Free shipping is a sneaky way to externalize these impacts invisibly while also encouraging customers to buy more than is needed just to get to a threshold. Realistically, you as the customer pay for shipping with either an inflated MSRP or with a transparent shipping fee, and we'd rather show you what you're actually paying for.
Do you do seasonal sales?
Nope! We do our best to price our products fairly and accessibly. Seasonal sales incentivize overconsumption. We'd rather you buy one of our products when and if you need it, not just for the endorphins of clicking "buy".
Sales also put strain on our (very small) team by making inventory and fulfillment less predictable. We don't want you to worry about optimizing when to buy one of our products - trust that it'll be the same price now, tomorrow, or next week.
Where are your products made?
The majority of our products are made in South China with a trusted partner. We have a close communicative relationship and visit the factory regularly.
We're encouraging our partner factory to pursue additional certifications to represent their fair labor practices. They're evaluating pursuing amfori BSCI for 2025. We'll update this page when and if that's achieved.
Some of our creative explorations are made in-house in San Francisco. You can find that collection of products (Studio Line) here!

At Gradient Projects, we design objects that add delight to the ordinary. We make it a little more magical every time you play outside.
